Love sweet love...

Very soon I will be preaching through a series that will deal with how we as Christians act in our daily lives and how the world sees our actions. We will look at things that we do daily that are not very Christian at all. We look honestly at our lives compared to how we should be living. It could be a long series.

In preparation for this series one thought has been nagging me more and more. It is a thought that forces reflection on a key component in our understanding of God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Do we love people enough to share Jesus?

We love much. We love our thoughts. We love our hobbies. We know we love football and our favorite team. We love our ideas and we love our perspectives. But do we love people enough to share Jesus in the manner that Jesus loves us and died for us?

The answer is easy - NO.

Reversing the behavior is more complicated.

What will it take for us to truly love people enough to share Jesus? What will have to happen in our lives that will propel us to reverse a growing 20 year trend among Christians? Are we even willing to ask God about it and then listen to what He says?

Isn't there a song that says something like..."what the world neeeds now is love sweet love!"

And doesn't the Bible say "...love one another...".

Just thinking about our mission today!
